Who we are and how to contact us

Plants for Garden is responsible for the personal information covered by this notice. If you have a question about your information or want to exercise a privacy right, contact Plants for Garden on 0333 533 0162, email info@plantsforgarden.co.uk or write to Plants for Garden, Suite 114B, Business First, Davyfield Road, Blackburn, Lancashire BB1 2QY.

Please describe your request and provide enough information for us to identify the relevant enquiry. Do not send payment card details or copies of identity documents unless we have explained why they are needed.

Information held by this website

The current website is a shopping preview. You can browse plants, select options and explore the basket and checkout. It does not accept an order, take a payment, create an account or send a contact form or newsletter subscription.

Basket selections are saved in your browser so they remain available as you move between pages. If you choose to enable recently viewed plants, the browser also remembers up to four product references. These product references do not include your name or contact details.

The checkout preview can save the email address, name, billing address, delivery address and delivery instructions you enter in the current browser tab. A preview confirmation contains the selected plants, quantities, prices and a preview reference. The site does not upload these details to us.

Payment brand images are illustrations of payment methods. They do not load a payment provider, request card information or transfer data to a payment service.

When you contact Plants for Garden

If you telephone, email or write to us, we use the details you provide to answer your question, discuss a planting project or deal with a concern. Depending on your enquiry, this may include your name, contact details, postcode, plant choices, boundary measurements and correspondence.

Please give us information relevant to your request. If you are enquiring for somebody else or providing a different delivery contact, make sure you are entitled to share their details and tell them about this notice.

Why we use personal information

The reason for using information depends on what you ask us to do. The following bases apply where the information identifies you.

Marketing and subscriptions

The newsletter form on this preview does not subscribe you to a mailing list. Entering an email address or exploring checkout does not give permission for marketing. The preview does not send marketing messages or use your browsing information for advertising.

Who can access your information

Information saved only in your browser is available to that browser and to anyone who can use its saved website data. It is not sent to Plants for Garden by the preview.

For a telephone, email or postal enquiry, access is limited to people who need the information to deal with the matter. We may also disclose relevant information where a legal duty requires it or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim. We do not publish customer correspondence.

Telephone, email and postal service providers handle the communications needed to receive and deliver your enquiry. Only include personal information that is necessary for the matter you want us to consider.

The current website uses locally supplied images, fonts and scripts. It does not contain a live analytics service, advertising tags, social media tracking plugins or an embedded payment form. Following an external link takes you to a separate organisation, whose own privacy notice then applies.

How long information is kept

The browser storage periods are set out in our cookie policy. Basket information remains until you clear it. Checkout information and the preview confirmation normally end when the browser tab session ends. Browser restore settings can sometimes restore a previous session, so use the clear-data control if you want to remove it immediately.

For information you give us directly, we keep it for as long as needed to answer the enquiry, complete any follow-up and handle a complaint. Any further retention depends on the nature of the matter, applicable record-keeping duties and the time reasonably needed for a related legal claim. We remove or anonymise records when there is no continuing reason to keep them.

Keeping information secure

Please take care when using a shared device. Other people using the same browser may be able to see a saved basket or checkout preview. Clear your saved data and close the tab when you have finished.

We limit access to correspondence to those who need it and take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure. No website or communication method can promise complete security. If you believe information has been sent to the wrong person, contact us promptly.

Your privacy rights

Depending on the reason we use your information, you can ask us to provide a copy, correct inaccurate details, erase information, restrict its use or provide information you supplied in a reusable form. These rights have conditions and do not always require us to delete records we must retain.

You have the right to object to our use of your information where we rely on legitimate interests. Tell us about your circumstances so we can consider your request. You can object to direct marketing at any time.

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. For recently viewed plants, use the cookie settings control. Withdrawing consent does not affect use of information before you withdrew it.

Contact us using the details above. We normally respond to a rights request within one calendar month. If we need reasonable proof of identity, clarification or more time where the law allows, we will explain what is needed.

There is no automated decision-making in this preview that produces legal or similarly significant effects. Its search suggestions simply help you find plants and site information.

Questions and complaints

If you are concerned about how your information has been handled, please contact Plants for Garden so we can look into it. We will acknowledge a data protection complaint within 30 days, keep you informed and provide an outcome without unjustifiable delay.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection regulator. You do not have to wait for our permission to contact the ICO.

Cookies and changes to this notice

Read our cookie policy for the browser storage table and controls for optional recently viewed plants. This notice was last updated on 23 October 2026. We will update it if the website or our use of personal information changes.
